Read our announcement in TechCrunch: Albert Invent hopes to revolutionize the chemicals sector with its AI platform

When we founded Albert Invent, the vision was personal and ambitious. I had been working alongside Ken Kisner, a close mentor and partner, to fundamentally transform the scientific process and create the lab of the future. Together, we had over 40 years of experience building companies within the chemical industry, and we realized the untapped potential of digitalizing our R&D processes. It wasn’t about simply making labs paperless; it was about creating a transformative ecosystem where data drove innovation.

The initial strides were challenging but exhilarating. However, starting in the San Francisco Bay, our ideas caught fire and in 2022 we created Albert Invent to take our technology to the broader chemical industry. Our motivation wasn’t just business; it was about revolutionizing an industry, OUR INDUSTRY, burdened by inefficiency and manual processes.

Albert Invent began as a platform to clean, structure, and centralize data but has grown into so much more. Now, with thousands of scientists leveraging our technology across the biggest global companies, we stand at the forefront of the AI revolution in chemistry.

Albert Breakthrough represents the intersection of data, innovation, and AI. At its core, the AI/ML tools within Breakthrough have been trained to ‘think like a chemist’. With more than 15 million chemical structures underpinning each prediction, our platform empowers scientists to design experiments, test hypotheses, and analyze results faster and more accurately than ever before. By embedding machine learning and AI into the heart of our system, we’ve made this technology accessible to any chemist and turned data into actionable insights. With Albert Breakthrough, we’re not just helping our customers to solve today’s problems but creating tools that allow scientists to dream bigger.

Our partnership with our customers exemplifies Albert Invent’s impact. Nouryon, a leading global specialty chemical company, has used Albert to drive AI insights across different teams and product lines, inventing higher quality products in less time. Marabu, a leader in the ink and coating industry, went from a paper-based lab to a fully digital workflow, where chemists across the world can now collaborate with the click of a button.

As a global leader in adhesives and functional coatings, Henkel faced the challenge of managing decades of R&D data across labs in over 36 countries. Different teams worked with localized systems, creating inefficiencies and siloed innovation. Albert changed everything. By integrating our platform, Henkel transformed how its 2,800 scientists collaborated, shared, and utilized data.

As Henkel’s Executive VP, Mark Dorn, remarked, Albert isn’t just a tool—it’s a catalyst for a new era in materials science; “providing better solutions while accelerating time to market”.

Albert Invent started with a dream to make chemistry smarter and faster. Today, as we lead the AI-driven transformation in materials science, the journey feels like it’s just beginning. If the stories of our customers are any indication, the future of science is bright, collaborative, and powered by platforms like Albert.

Stay tuned as we continue to share more about how AI and machine learning are reshaping the industry, one innovation at a time.
